"Solitude" and "Migration" can be described as the two key words accompanying Shifei Zhang's growth and life.

In his growth decades, Chinese society was undergoing explosive changes in all aspects. As a result of his family's job changes, Shifei Zhang's childhood witnessed the big gap in different China's urban environments and levels of development.

In 2015, Shifei Zhang entered the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. There, he underwent five years of academic training in realistic sculpture. After the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he moved to Jingdezhen and began working with ceramic. This experience prompted him to contemplate the connection between his artistic expression and his personal experiences, traditions, and living environment more deeply. In 2023, Shifei Zhang relocated to Stockholm to pursue his research in ceramics and glass.
